Exploration/Settlement

_____ Write a script, song, or rap that explains the three major reasons for European exploration.  Once complete, you may perform on video if you want & time allows. It can be a rewrite of a song you know or an original piece. 

_____Create any kind of video that outlines the major representative principles that came from the Magna Carta, Mayflower Compact, English Bill of Rights, and the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut.

_____ Write a story as a Jamestown colonist or a Plymouth pilgrim.  (Minimum 1 page. Must include multiple characters, dialogue and be historically accurate.) Type the story in a Google Doc. Title it and share with your teacher. Use an MLA heading!

_____Complete the provided Revolutionary War Crossword. (HF)

_____Create your own American Revolutionary War timeline, complete with battles, major figures, and political events.  Use your colored pencils and the paper provided  (Minimum 10 events, each must have an image, must be done by hand.)

_____Take the colonial grievances listed in the Declaration of Independence and write a series of texts or tweets to King George telling him why your are "breaking up with him". Be funny, but use real reasons the colonists were angry with the Crown. Add hashtags too!

Articles of Confederation & Creating the Constitution.


_____ Using paper and map pencils, create 
cartoon that details Shay's Rebellion.  Must include 
dialogue and at least four boxes. Your cartoon should cover Shay's motivations, the outcome of the rebellion and its importance.


_____ Create a song or poem that could be used to 
teach someone the basics of the Articles of Confederation including the weaknesses and successes.  Optional: Perform it on video if time permits. 

_____ Write a what-if story detailing the new history of the United States if the Constitutional Convention had failed.  (Minimum 1 page.  Must include multiple characters and have dialogue.  Can include pictures if desired.)

______ Create a flip book or Manga comic that shows your understanding of at least five of the terms below.  You must include the term, definition, and a drawing that illustrates the principle.

_____ Create a detailed Venn diagram that compares and contrasts the Articles of Confederation and the U.S. Constitution. Diagram should show a clear understanding of weaknesses of the AOC and how the Constitution dealt with those weaknesses. You can do this by hand or use a digital Venn diagram creator. (Minimum of 5 similarities and 10 differences)

_____ Review the Bill of Rights and choose the six freedoms you think are most valuable.  Create a cartoon that illustrates why you chose those six rights. Can be done digitally or by hand.

_____ Review the Bill of Rights and write a song parody summarizing all 10 rights guaranteed. Example
